Paintings Based On The Story Of Creation

There are many stories of creation. One of the most famous is found in the opening pages of the Bible. The abstract paintings in this exhibit are related to that story.

In the beginning when God created the heavens and the earth, the earth was a formless void and darkness covered the face of the deep, while a wind from God swept over the face of the waters.

And God said, "Let the waters bring forth swarms of living creatures, . . . So God created the great sea monsters and every living creature that moves, of every kind, with which the waters swarm. . . And God saw that it was good. God blessed them, saying, "Be fruitful and multiply and fill the waters in the seas. . . "

And God said, . . . "Let birds fly above the earth across the dome of the sky." So God created . . . every winged bird of every kind. And God saw that it was good. God blessed them, saying, "Be fruitful . . . and let birds multiply on the earth." And there was evening and there was morning, the fifth day.

Out of the ground the LORD God made to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight and good for food, the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
